Drawing for fun and tea and fame

Spent a while working on this little contest entry for an art agency with the idea of setting myself a challenge. The Lilla Rogers "Global Talent Search" draws more than 1,000 entries annually. This year, the first stage of the contest was to design a cup, saucer and napkin for a theoretical patisserie adding a tea service to their offerings. Once designed, everything had to go on an 8-by-10-inch page.

The goal was (is) to make the first round of 50. But it's really competitive, and I've seen some other artists' beautiful entries, so ... just trying to concentrate on what I learned from the work. I can tell you this, though: When I was done working on this, I missed doing it.
